I was stopped at the side of the road today waiting to meet up with a co-worker and I was looking through several domain name lists on my blackberry when I looked up and saw a billboard with a domain name on it. I though briefly of a post Domain Shane put up a couple days ago and then I started thinking about how to pick a pretty awesome name from the thousands of crappy ones in a list and I though let me try and look at each name and imagine that name on a billboard up in the air on the side of the road and it may sound a little silly but I was amazingly impressed with the results and how it made me feel about that particular name. Now it was a little time consuming so you might not use it to search through thousands of names like this but if your on the fence with a domain name, you just might look up and to the right a little and see a billboard with that name on it and see if it still strikes your fancy. TryOrganicFoods.com Afternoon Ya’ll: I spend a little while this afternoon looking for some killer domains for ya and a diamond in the rough for me. I’ve got to tell you I’ve been trying to call myself a Domainer for a little while now and I have to say this past week has shown me more success that the last three years. One reason is my ability to pick decent quality names. You not going to get “premium” one word or generic names unless you have a few million dollars to drop from your pockets. Another reason is something I’ve known about for some time but until a week ago haven’t put forth any effort in doing and that has been my biggest mistake and costliest one too. I started getting pro-active with selling domains. I’m no salesman and no loud-mouth marketer who can talk so fast someone will pay me just to get a sentence in or two. No I’m neither of these so i found an awesome service that does most of this for me. It’s called the Domain Lead Generator and it’s one tool or service of many offered at Estibot.com. I paid a monthly subscription which I paid for several times over the second day of my first month with a $500 sale using this tool. You can sign up HERE for a free membership and see the awesome tools they offer at a free level and go up from there. I highly recommend them to anyone in the Domaining business especially if you are on the edge of giving it up. If you can get $40 for the first month, I’d really suggest trying their domain lead generator tool with all your domains and see what may come your way. As a word of advise, It says it right on the tool but unless you own horses.com or dogs.com (or something similar), you might really want to keep your prices down between $200 to $600 range for better success. You can certainly experiment but please don’t buy any of the names I’ve listed below for $8 and try to sell them for $5000 because you probably aren’t going to be successful. I have a spreadsheet of all my domain in my portfolio and I’ve jotted a few statistics down, including the Estibot price and MY price and that is what it goes for (no regrets). Well every single day about 30 to 60 thousand domain names expire for non-renewal and go back to the general public available to register by anyone at any domain registrar such as GoDaddy or Moniker. I go through this list with the help of a little software and some elbow grease and narrow 60 thousand down to a couple thousand and then finally a couple hundred. I research a few of these and maybe purchase one or two and pass the rest along to you. thanks for reading.
