Mega Friday Available Domain name List

I know I haven’t posted anything for a couple days now but I’ve sorted through over 3000 domain names to give you well over 200 domains for your consideration. I had to register bachelorcake.com. I just couldn’t turn it down. i might try to flip it however my wife is starting up her own cake baking business (fancythatcake.com) so i might redirect it to her website there. Anyways enjoy the names and enjoy this weather – WOW is it ever awesome outside right now. Time to go till the garden!

4/3/2010 Available Domain Names List

Happy Easter everyone! I want to keep up with my posting for a change. I always start and then slow down and eventually stop every time I get started with something and I’m trying hard not to do this for once. I wanted to put out a pretty huge list of some great names for you to look at. I also wanted to tell you about a great domain name availability tool that is right here on froggy domains website. If you look at the top left you see the tab “check domain availability” and just put some names in there and click submit for a real-time check. So here is the names. ENJOY!

3/30/2010 Available Domain Name List

Here are today’s list of available domains. I was just thinking as I was going from 35,000 domain names down to 1400 and eventually down to a hundred or so about how these lists are very subjective in just who is making them. What I mean is I won’t put any adult disgusting names in my lists anywhere. However petesdomain.com is probably useless for everyone except all the Pete’s in the world. I would kill (almost LOL) for Jons Forum or Jons Blog or Jons Place or anything really. They are mostly all gone. I haven’t actually checked too exhaustively. My point is I wonder how many ways a room full of Domainers would cut up a standard list of 40k available domain names on average each day? Just a thought – Enjoy the names!!!

I just registered localmusicevents.com – couldn’t help myself – we will see if I can make anything from it. I just emailed the folks over at rootorange.com to see if they would be interested in it. If you haven’t checked out there site I’d seriously suggest it. It seems a great avenue to monetize your names if you have what they are looking for.

3/29/2010 Available Domain Names

I’m thinking of a new service to offer everyone especially (pardon the term) newbies. Honestly I’ve been peddling domain names and trying to learn what it means to be a Domainer for about 3 to5 years now off and on so I still think of myself as a “Newbie” too. i certainly haven’t maid millions of $$’s and I wonder if half the ones who say they have are actually successful either.

Anyways I look through several thousand domains each day to make myself a list of good available domain names and I buy very few of them so why not pass that list down and hopefully gain some readers and traffic. I will put up a donate button here real soon and actually I’m hoping if it turns out pretty good, I’d like to use this money to help sponsor orphaned children from Africa. Please help me with this endeavor.

Here are today’s list of names available at time of publishing. What do you think?

Google Nexus One

Okay maybe the Nexus One is yesterdays news in the shadows of the iPad announced last week by Steve Jobs.

I personally think bigger is better and maybe it’s just me but why does one want to spend all that money and only have a tiny 4 inch screen to cruise the web with? A 6,7 or even 9 inch screen is a perfect size device if you ask me to look at just almost anything from pictures to movies to stock tickers.

There are going to be several devices similiar in nature to the iPad coming this year and personally I’m looking for an android device to fill the short comings of the iPad namely multi-tasking for one and perhaps flash.

I was most disapointed in Google when they announced the price of the Nexus One. Come on Google if Apple can release a bigger device that has everything (and more) you precious Nexus One has for much less $$ then you are being evil! You are being greedy! Everyone in my office was saying if they release this affordable to the masses (maybe $250 to $350 or $99 subsidized) they will blow Apple out of the water today in one big swoop. When we saw the price we immediately closed the browser and forgot about it.

What are your thoughts?

The Google Phone

Okay was anybody else severely disappointed at the Nexus One release yesterday?

I for one was. The iPhone killer everyone was saying. Yea right! I gotta say the iPhone is pretty slick in many ways. It’s pretty, it has the most apps available; there is nothing remotely close to the number of apps. Lets face the facts that feature to feature, there isn’t really much more room for improvements here unless we really are going for the razor and single cup of coffee pod from our smart phones LOL. The iPhone is pretty awesome and everyone is riding their wake.

What is the one thing Google could have done to blow Apple out of the water in a single day?

Anybody??

How about a $99 unlocked price right off their homepage? With all the hype, every third geek in the world would have bought one and put their iPhone in the closet for good. Then who is using Google apps on their phone searching and *hint* clicking on Google ads all day long. I don’t know about you but I tend to click five times the ads on a mobile than I do all day long on my desktop. I don’t know why but I’m guessing it seems to get what I want easier and quicker with the smaller screen size.

Anyways Google – you suk for trying to make money on your phones. I guess instead you made … another android phone – Congrats! Doctors and Lawyer and a few blessed geeks with nice bosses will reap a cool phone perhaps. Personally I think with the bigger RAM, the Droid is by far a better way to go. plus I just saw yesterday on Verizon’s site two Droids for $100 (yea that’s right!) with a NEW 2-year contract – $100 with buy one get one free.

I’m sure I’ll wait another year and see how many android phones I’ll be able to pick from at that time and around Christmas time, I bet I’ll be able to get one for practically free like they should be if I’m paying every month for service.

later,
Jon

WordPress 2.9 “Carmen” is born!

WordPress version 2.9 “Carmen” named in honor of magical jazz vocalist Carmen McRae has been released to the general public today.

With more than 500 enhancements, bug fixes, ticteks, etc… This is the best riding WP ever!

They have added a global trash can giving you 30 days to bring back to life a deleted post, comment or page. They also added support to easier embed videos – just put the link in a line by itself and your video is posted. How about a picture editor built right in? Word Press 2.9 has it! You can now bulk update your plugins with a couple clicks also.

Check out wordpress.org for more information and watch the video below:

The Google Countdown…

What is Google planning now? Is it simply a countdown timer too New Years or could it be a new product launch? Could it be the long overdue highly anticipated Nexus One AKA Google Phone?

Whatever it is Google has placed a rather large countdown timer right on their home page. How do you see it you ask – simply hit that “I’m feeling Lucky” button without typing in any query and there it is in all it’s glory counting down in seconds. Apparently as of writing it has approximately a little over 15 days left to go.

Google Countdown

Maybe Google is finally too big for Earth and is heading for the moon to dominate …LOL!

Google Chrome Frame

“Bring open web technologies to your browser”

I was just looking at my Google Reader which is where most of my news-you-can-use comes through these days and I found an article about Google Chrome Frame – Runs IE8 10X faster! I was interested so I read on. It’s kind of funny that Google comes out with an IE plugin (BHO) but I must say (WOW).

I can say I’ve been using Chrome since the very beginning and the speed is undeniable. I never thought I would replace IE. I’ve always used it and everything (for the most part) works within it. Chrome is just fast and that was apparently enough because I use Chrome 100% now on every computer I use.

However I do miss IE and oddly enough, the Google toolbar mostly LOL. I don’t believe I will ever go back to IE permanently but it is a fresh of breath air to revisit the browser and when I go to others computers who only have the default IE in place, I can install this add-on and be happy with my visit and take credit when they later go on the internet and feel the extra speed boost.

Check it out http://www.google.com/chromeframe
